According to the Law Society’s website, Lexcel can help your practice or in-house legal department to:

* effectively manage risk
* attract new business and increase client retention
* reduce client complaints and increase client satisfaction
* comply with new practice rules and regulatory requirements
* increase profitability and efficiency by using standardised processes
* access lower insurance premiums and receive favourable treatment from insurers

Having been responsible for the management of the Lexcel standard within a multi-office law firm for several years before qualifying as a Lexcel accredited consultant our lead consultant understands some of the benefits that accreditation can bring, especially in relation to the management of risk and standardisation of processes. With the seemingly never ending raft of regulatory requirements being imposed on law firms, a persistently tight labour market, the need to remain competitive and the increasing willingness of clients (quite rightly) to challenge poor outcomes the standard requires law firms to think about and address many of these key issues.

In addition, whilst the requirements of the SRA Standards and Regulations are not entirely met by the adoption of the standard it certainly goes a very long way to ensuring compliance with those regulatory requirements.
